Leather trader MAASLEDER, based in Waalwijk, has acquired Van Oosterum Leder. Thanks to the acquisition, the future of the family business from Raamsdonksveer has been secured, says Evert van Oosterum. Van Oosterum will remain actively involved as General Manager after the acquisition; the brand name and identity of Van Oosterum Leder will be preserved.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

MAASLEDER in Waalwijk is on the verge of its centenary; in September 2026 the family business will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The company is a leading international supplier of leather to various leather-processing industries, with a long-standing focus on footwear. MAASLEDER represents several renowned Italian tanneries and offers a wide\u00a0 collection of upper and lining leathers. Gerard Maas is passing MAASLEDER on to his son Jurgen, who, as the fourth generation, has been working in the company for six years.
\nBy contrast, Evert van Oosterum, owner of Van Oosterum Leder in Raamsdonksveer, has no successor within his family. Looking ahead, he decided to transfer his family business to MAASLEDER.
\n\u201cA big step,\u201d says Evert van Oosterum. \u201cVan Oosterum Leder was founded in 1929 by my grandfather Jan; my father Gerard worked here for about sixty years. MAASLEDER, as a family business, shares the same DNA and places great importance on quality and service. I am proud that MAASLEDER has chosen to keep the Van Oosterum Leder brand name. This collaboration ensures continuity of our articles and service.\u201d<\/p>\n

Renovation and expansion<\/strong>
\nVan Oosterum Leder will eventually move into MAASLEDER\u2019s premises in Waalwijk, just a 15-minute drive from Raamsdonksveer. The MAASLEDER building will be renovated and expanded. Gerard and Jurgen Maas are delighted with the step their company is taking.

Trade fair in Cologne<\/strong>
\nCustomers and partners are being informed personally about the acquisition. Entrepreneurs Maas and Van Oosterum will present themselves jointly for the first time on 24 and 25 October at the international trade fair Orthop\u00e4die Schuh Technik<\/em> in Cologne.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n
